Andrea Beltramello
Andrea Beltramello has been the Head of the Capital Markets Union unit in the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services, and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission since January 1, 2025. Prior to this role, he headed the Resolution and Deposit Insurance unit within DG FISMA.
Between 2018 and 2023, Andrea was a Member of Cabinet for European Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, where he had responsibilities for financial services policy and regulation and trade policy during two Commission mandates. His earlier roles in DG FISMA include Deputy Head of the Communication Unit, and policy officer in the Capital Markets Union unit and the Free Movement of Capital and Application of EU law unit.
Prior to joining the European Commission, he was an Economist/Policy Analyst at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, working across the Directorates for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, and Science, Technology, and Industry from 2007 to 2012. He also has experience in international trade and European affairs with a major European technology company. Andrea holds degrees from the University of Trieste in Italy and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
