Tomáš Václavíček
Tomáš Václavíček has been working in DG FISMA for 8 years as an economist and policy officer. In his current role in the asset management unit (C4) and as Member of the Task Force on Startups and Scaleups, he contributes in particular to the topics related to venture capital and financing of startups and EU economy under the SIU and the Startup and Scaleup strategies. His focus is notably on venture and growth capital funds, including EuVECA framework, and mobilising institutional investments into EU startups and scaleups. He oversaw a delivery of a study on the topic, prepared by Civitta, EBAN and Bourse consult, which was published in October 2025.
He also follows the work on encouraging retail investments and other workstreams relevant to the development of EU capital markets. Before joining the European Commission, Tomáš has gained brief experience from the private sector, notably in consulting roles and financial sector.
