Iris Cordoba Mondejar

Iris Córdoba Mondejar was born in Buenos Aires. She holds a Law Degree from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master’s in Administration and Public Policy from INAP–University of Alcalá, and a Master’s in Digital Economics from the School of Industrial Organization. In 2020, she completed the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management.

She has built a distinguished career dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through public–private collaboration.

Her professional journey spans Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, where she led the establishment of the GSIC office in Singapore, strengthening connections among cultural industries, the Spanish economy, and the sports and entertainment sectors. Since 2015, Iris has been leading the Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) powered by Microsoft, a global collaborative platform bridging public, private, and academic stakeholders to drive innovation in the sports industry. Her leadership has positioned the GSIC as an international benchmark in sportstech and digital transformation. In parallel, she became a partner in a company specializing in financing sports startups, expanding her impact on the sports entrepreneurship ecosystem.

In parallel, she became a partner at Sport Thinker Capital, a company supporting startups through M&A and financing strategies with a focus on Asia, Europe, and Latin America, further expanding her impact on the sports entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Her work focuses on pioneering sport technology trends, supporting startups, facilitating scouting for sports entities, and promoting global sports ecosystems through both policy and private initiatives. Within GSIC, she also drives open innovation programs and has built a robust international network of organizations across Europe, APAC, and Latin America.

A strong advocate for female leadership in sport, Iris launched a Mentoring Program that has engaged 25 senior female leaders across Asia and the Middle East, supporting nearly 100 entrepreneurs through its four editions. She frequently serves as a mentor, judge, and speaker at international events and startup competitions related to sport and technology, reinforcing her reputation as a key industry leader.

Her influence and leadership have been widely recognized. She was included in the “Singapore 100 Women in Tech 2023” ranking, underscoring her global relevance in technology and sports innovation. In Spain, she has been featured among the “Top 100 Female Leaders of Spain” in the Entrepreneurs and Revelation category and recognized as one of the “20 Most Influential Women in the Sports Industry in Spain” by Metadeporte. Additionally, in 2021 and 2022, she was listed among the “100 Women Leaders in Spanish Sport” by El Español and 20minutos, and received the “Exceptional Women of Excellence” award from the Women Economic Forum.
